The event included a fashion show with silent auction and raffle to raise funds to support their 2018 grants and scholarships.
The 2017 grants and scholarships were awarded to:
Broadscope Disabilities Services
CORE/EL Centro
New-Life Community Resource Center
Pearls for Teen Girls
and The Women's Center of Waukesha.
Three educational scholarships were awarded to support young women in:
Public affairs,
Science/technology/engineering/math;
and Business.
About 25 women from the Village of Richfield were in attendance.
The Confederation of Zonta Clubs was formed in 1930. Originally conceived as a female equivalent of the Lions Clubs (an organization that, until 1987, was all-male), Zonta sponsors program to help women in the field of public affairs and policy making. It has consultative status with the Council of Europe, the United Nations (UN), ILO, and several UN agencies.
