Which Danah Zoulek is Richfield Candidate?

3/28/2019

An article in March 28, 2019 Daily News about Washington County Board proposing a potential sand mine in Heritage Park located in Town of Polk brought forth an interesting comment by Candidate Zoulek.  She is the owner of Scenic Pit in Richfield that will potentially bring truck after truck of fill to the old pit on Scenic Rd.  She is not worried about contaminating groundwater in Richfield, but she also writes about her concerns about the groundwater in Town of Polk.

Danah Zoulek wrote that the “foolhardy and dangerous” proposal could lead to contaminated groundwater.......  Source: Daily News 3/28/19.

Voters in Richfield need to know these facts about Candidate Zoulek. On one hand she writes it would be "foolhardy and dangerous" for Town of Polk residents yet she has no concerns about Richfield residents? As a Richfield resident how do you feel?

Should not be elected . She already makes enough noise with all the trucks going in and out . Her animals run freely throughout the roads and neighbor hoods . Shes not a good fit for the area with what she is trying to do .

Well, most of us know who she is and what she stands for. I wonder if she and Jeff go to the Polk town meetings and scream and yell like they did in Richfield. People beware!!

Marie -- you must admit, they make very professionally looking and easy to spot colorful flyers with well thought out truth twisting.

Not sure but it looks like she did not pay for her nifty blue propaganda flyers either. Pretty sure it is a promotional firm out of West Bend that she stiffed and she is now being sued in small claims court.

I’m restoring an abandon quarry to protect they groundwater. Washington County wants to mine out a pit near known contaminated sites. I have always been for protecting our groundwater.

Danah,
Would you be willing to provide a list of the sources from where the fill materials entering your pit are coming from? Out of curiousity, I like to know where this 'clean fill' is coming from. I've seen enough cases of 'clean fill' having elevated levels of metals, PAHS, and VOCs to impact the subsurface conditions. I think we as a village have a right to know where the material is coming from such as the addresses and business names so we can look them up on the WDNR databases.

I realize this will be an unpopular opinion on this site, which means it will probably not be published, but I voted for Zoulek and hope she wins one of her two races. The gravel pit is on her own land, she should be allowed to fill it in if she pleases. Reading the news updates on the back and forth between her and the board paints the entire exchange as terribly childish to my eyes. She won her court case, so she has every right to continue. Village Board needs a shake up, if you ask me - seems like too many people who have all agreed with each other for far too long. Differences in opinion are important - and debate in government is both healthy and necessary. Will gladly discuss in a respectful manner with anyone who wishes.
