Volunteers for the Washington County Interfaith Caregivers are currently spending less of their volunteer time providing transportation for senior citizens during the current calls for the public to stay home and remain in isolation. But Interfaith officials realized the senior citizens they have been serving still need daily contact, even though they can’t receive that during the few transportation trips they still provide.
“It’s been a bonus for both sides and it’s also a way for us to, without calling it a well check, just checking in our seniors,” Brudvig said. “We also do food deliveries or pharmacy deliveries and we can still do those so it’s a good way to see if they are OK and if they need anything.”Anyone interested in volunteering can find an application on the Interfaith website: www.interfaithwashco. org or call their office 262-365-0902.
