A few ladies and I went to the fair last night. We walked through the carnival area, fed the camel and then set our chairs on the hill overlooking the amphitheater. People mingled, laughed, while children were playing. Nice night for a concert.
About 8:30 pm .38 Special came on stage and what a show. While I have not followed this group very closely they have been around for about 30 years and performed many songs I have heard and enjoy.
They started with what I would call heavier rock and roll and then we were able to enjoy songs I knew such as Hold On Loosely, Fantasy Girl, If I’d Been the One, Back Where You Belong, Second Chance, and more songs that I often hear on the radio.
The amphitheater lighting was fantastic. Sometimes synchronized to the music. .38 Special played for almost 2 full hours. All in all we had a wonderful night.
