At various times Richfield School District and Friess Lake School District school boards have discussed a merger into one school district. About 7 years ago a study was conducted regarding merger but the decision to merge was placed on hold. Potential financial issues were raised as well as student enrollment.
A recent Press Release from the two schools announced a meeting to review a current study. The two current school boards as well as administrators are looking into the pros and cons of a merger. You are invited to attend a Consolidation Study meeting to hear results of this recent merger study. Meeting to be held at the Richfield Village Hall.
A merger would hopefully reduce school taxes for residents in these two districts and bring together children who live next door to each other who presently attend different schools. A merger would also be great to connect the greater Richfield community.
If Richfield could also have one postal delivery name rather than 5, that would be wonderful too, Richfield, Hubertus, Colgate, Germantown, and Hartford. Is that too many in one small village?
Let's get the schools merged, then the Richfield village board can tackle mail delivery areas.
