RRAD Solidarity with Green Ribbons

8/17/2015

Richfield Residents Against Dump better known as The Scenic Group-R.R.A.D Richfield Residents Against Dump are offering green ribbons. so residents can show their support.

Citizens of Richfield, Wisconsin, who oppose any and all dumping of fill, be it clean or otherwise, in the area around Willow Creek and Scenic Road are encouraged to get a green ribbon and tie it to the lower post of their mail box. It cannot be tied to any part of the mailbox.
Ribbons are available at 501 Scenic Road. They are in a container outside the entrance door. The ribbons are free.

A donation would greatly be appreciated to help defer the cost of the ribbons and assist in attorney fees in the effort to preserve our scenic community by protecting our ground water, the safety of our children and residents and our rural way of life. The donation is not tax deductible so no receipt will be provided. If you wish to donate with a check it can be written to:
Richfield Residents Against Dump, LLC,
P. O. Box 202
Hubertus, Wi 53033

Your donation can also be anonymous. Take as many ribbons as you and your neighbors need. Cash can be left in the ribbon container. Richfield neighbors are trusted.

Share your thoughts with this energetic group.

Hopefully the pit group will not take them down.

This community group needs everyones help. The impact of truck traffic (estimates of up to 500 per day for years not months) on our narrow village roads with no sidewalks will affect quite literally thousands of people. For example, for anyone with children going to Amy Belle School, you will have to share the four way intersection with all of those trucks. Anyone taking Willow Creek to get to and from the expressway or Germantown- you'll have to wait behind lines of dump trucks as you wait for trains to go through. Walking your dog on a nice fall afternoon - move over again and again because those trucks are big and there will be a lot of them. Taxpayers - we will all have to pay more to repair increased damage on the roads and we'll have to fix them more often. Private well owners ( all of us) if a load of contaminated fill does find its way to the ground water - who is going to pick up the cost?

Please visit the website, give your support, and donate.

There is contamination in the pit on the east of Scenic Rd. I am happy to give the records to anyone who wants them. Let's get it cleaned up and prevent this from happening again by properly restoring the Scenic Pit!

3 major pits in Richfield,
1. One pit is restored as part of a 99 lot subdivision. Village supported and gave special exemptions to. Board member is heavily affiliated and recuses from voting on the project.
2. Another pit accepts clean fill everyday to restore the pit. Village has not interfered.
3. The last pit needs to stay a pit forever according to the Village.

Makes zero sense

Yes, lets see the records. the land is not on the DNR list of contamination sites. What contamination does it have? Nothing has been dumped there, just extraction of gravel. Again this is not a mine, it is a pit/quarry.

What other pit is accepting "clean fill"..does it accept road construction that contains asphalt. Or is is REAL clean fill
