Wisconsin voters first elected her to the state Assembly in 2004 after she served as the Washington County Board supervisor for 16 years. She is a member of the Joint Finance Committee, which creates the state budget biannually.
Strachota ran unopposed in her 2012 election. She said in the release she is “confident that a good Republican” will take her place.
Strachota is a member of the American Legislative Exchange Council, a partnership between conservative legislators and corporate and nonprofit leaders. In the release, Strachota thanked her constituents and family for their support.
