The Washington County Community Forum on Heroin will be held from 6-9 p.m. May 6 at the West Bend high schools auditorium.
The public is invited to this countywide discussion on the heroin addiction problem in Washington County. Sponsored by the nonprofit Elevate, headquartered in Jackson.
The resource table will be available with information starting at 6 p.m. A panel discussion moderated at Jeff Wagner, Radio 620 WTMJ on-air personality, will begin at 7 p.m., Elevate’s County Prevention Coordinator Ronna Corliss said.
Panelists include state Rep. Pat Strachota (R-West Bend); Washington County Sheriff’s Department Detective Mark Sette; family psychologist Jim Giese; emergency room physician Mary Lewis; Rise Together, Douglas Darby and Anthony Alvarado; and a family affected by heroin abuse.
Corliss said the forum should be “an eye-opening presentation on heroin and other opiate issues in Washington County.”
Children ages 12-17 are encouraged to attend with their parents. For more information, call Elevate at 677-2216.
