Richfield officials are in the early stages regarding a village promotion plan.
“Some have been wondering, should we do more to promote Richfield as a new location for a business and promote the village as the area a family will want to relocate to and live there?” Healy said.
Healy said he and others have watched other area businesses locate in Germantown or other nearby communities and don’t understand why or if Richfield was also considered during that location process.
“We want to find out those answers so we can try to overcome whatever the problem is or question is so that get those people to located in our village,” he said. “Richfield is a great community to work and live and we just want to see if we are doing everything possible to let others know that so they consider us instead of going to someplace else,” Healy said.
Healy said maybe the town has to put together a formal promotion program or maybe something else to get answers to their questions.
“It’s not something that will be decided soon,” Healy said. “It will take some discussion and some consideration. Maybe everything is fine the way it is, but we just want to know if there is something else we could be or should be doing to promote locating a business or living here in Richfield.”
If the village went ahead with a formal promotion effort, officials would have to decide how much to spend and where the money to pay for it would come from.
No decision has been made on what meeting discussion will be held on the issue.
Village President John Jeffords had nothing to add to the discussion until the village board holds public meetings on the issue.
