News about an area restaurant in Germantown.

Remember when Nardo's was the Edelweiss Inn Restaurant?
Long ago you see Knies Family as the proud owner's of a favorite German restaurant here in Germantown.  You almost think they are directly off the boat from the "Sound of Music". Stay tuned as they are going full circle in the restaurant business.

Nardo's Passport Inn Owners
Chris and Carol Mastronardo have been the proud owners of Nardo's for the past 20 years.  We are happy to announce the grandson of the Knies family is taking over to continue serving Germantown.  We are pleased to announce the change to Big Sky Country Restaurant. Some of you already know them from the Wisconsin State Fair!
Big Sky Country Restaurant
Eric Schroeder and Kevin Riley have been owners and operators of Big Sky Country at Wisconsin State Fair for the past 3 years.  In March they take over Nardo's with over 45 years of combined experience in the bar and restaurant field.

Kevin Riley & Eric Schroeder
Welcome you to see their new home at the former Nardo's Passport Inn.  Stop in to meet them and see the exciting new menu, along with new entertainment, happy hour and other specials that will keep you coming back to one of your favorite places in Germantown starting in March.  Exact date TBA.

Went friday 3/24, ordered two tall drinks $18.00. that is a ridiculous price for that place, turned one dining room into a pool hall, Lined one wall with Gambling machines.. waited 45 min for table, sat down, waitress tool order, very limited menu and pricey. Didnt see her for over a 1/2 hour witout or dinners yet, and didn not check back to see if we wanted any drinks, water , etc. we ended up leaving without dinner at all, Sitting a a table, tv's blasting way too loud, for over a 1/2 hour, no bread, nothing on the empty table, was very frustrating, others around us feeling the same way.. Owner couldnt care less.. Will never go back, doubt they will be in business in 6 months.

Also heard that they no longer have the Rib Special.
They followed the money and turned it into a Bar with a Restaurant on the side. Too bad. I used to love the Nardo's Ribs.

Had a delicious brisket sandwich last night. Can't wait to try the Fish Fry with homemade potato pancakes, as well as some of the other items on the menu.

Went to Big Sky Country 4-5-17 for lunch. We are past customers of Nardo. We had a hamburger with cheese and fried onions with homemade fries. My friend he shaved prime rib sandwich with chips. We also had 2 bloody Mary's and chasers. The bloodies were very good. The sandwiches were excellent. The new decor was smartly done. The girl bartender introduced herself and was very friendly and thanked us when we left. Most of the key servers and bartenders remain. We were very impressed and will be going back very soon. Thank you.

Have been there numerous times to try different dishes. Love the chicken sandwich. Customized it with cheese bacon and cilantro sauce. Large breast and very tasty. Pulled pork is fantastic. Beef brisket is so tender. Bruschetta is delicious. The homemade potato chips rock. Friend had corn, pea and avocado salad and loved it. Friendly servers and drinks hit the spot. Great atmosphere! Need to get there for fish fry soon!

We were SOOO excited to try BSC for lunch. No bueno:(
First clue- not busy. Only 6 tables at lunch but we waited FOREVER for our food- why?????. All four of us thought our lunches tasted like it was held under warming lamps from the day before. Burned buns on ALL of our sandwiches. "Home made Chips" , recommended by our waitress, were barely warm, basically room temp- should not have been served. Totally burned and dry burger, marginal brisket sandwich (also highly recommended by our waitress), dry,over-cooked chicken sandwich, one over-priced cocktail that was mostly ice, three non-alcohol beverages that were over-priced. Sorry- not one good thing except our server was very friendly and the decor updated, which was needed. None of us will be back. Too bad. We loved Nardos. We REALLY wanted to like it. Best of luck.
