The Wisconsin Department of Transportation on Tuesday released the payments to communities for state transportation aid in April. The aid is reimbursement for costs of constructing and maintaining roads in each jurisdiction, said Anna Kraft, DOT interim general transportation aids/connecting highway aids program manager.

Counties did not receive a payment in April as they get 25 percent of their annual payment in January, 50 percent in July and 25 percent in October. Washington County is getting about $2 million in 2014, Kraft said.
