A 60-year-old Richfield man suffered punctures to his hands, arms and chest after three dogs attacked him and his dog while they were on a walk.
A neighbor heard the attack and brought out two baseball bats and started to strike all three dogs on the head. The dogs continued to attack and the neighbor allegedly got a .22-caliber revolver. As he got to his front yard two of the dogs came toward him and he fired one shot. Two dogs were taken to the Doggie ER in Grafton, according to the news release.
The Sheriff’s Department found out that one of the dogs was involved in an unreported bite about two months ago.
All three dogs received quarantine orders. The three dogs didn’t have dog licenses and two of the dogs were current on rabies vaccinations.
The Sheriff’s Department will issue citations, according to the report. The Sheriff’s Department might also have the dogs labeled as vicious animals, according to the report.
The 60-year-old man had cuts and punctures to his hands, arms and chest and his dog had cuts to the face, ears and neck.
