Fundraiser for Maggie Knapp  March 11 4 PM Sterling Chalet

3/3/2016

Maggie Knapp is a K-4 student at Plat Elementary School. She is the daughter of Toby & Ginger Knapp, and is a four year old Hubertus child that has been diagnosed with Arterial Tortuosity Syndrome. ATS is extremely rare. Approximately 100 people have been diagnosed with ATS in the world. ATS is a rare genetic, connective tissue disorder that causes arteries to elongate & twist, all over body pain, and hypermobility issues. (Hypermobile joints are very loose, and move beyond the point of normal movement.) This unfortunate disease greatly increases Maggie’s risk for strokes, heart attacks, aneurysms, and blood flow issues. It also causes her to need frequent MRIs, visits to specialists out of state, adaptive equipment, and to prepare for potential surgeries. Maggie is currently in need of an adaptive stroller because her muscles tire so easily, many trips to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, AR where the main ATS clinic in the U.S.A. is, funding for already high medical costs, and it would be a great benefit to Maggie to be able to go to the Country of Belgium where the worlds leading reachers for ATS are located .

Maggie's friends & family are holding a fundraiser to help Maggie and her family through her ATS Journey. This benefit will include:

-4:00pm-6:30pm: Kids games/activities, local singer/songwriter Jaid.
-4:30-7pm: Chili dinner (and chili cook-off between local fire departments) with all the fixings, sides, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverage. Alcohol will be available for purchase. (There will also be a meatless chili option since it is Lent.)
-6:00pm-7:30pm Music by Mas Sol.
-4:00pm-7:30pm: Silent auction & raffles MCd by Fox 6's Katrina Cravy.
-8:00pm: Country music sensation Chasin' Mason

Tickets for the this event are $15 and include all of the above. Children 14 & under are FREE. Concert only tickets will be sold for $8 at the door. Tickets can be purchased from any of the event organizers.
