What is being taught to our children?

11/28/2014

We often hear about separation of church and school. We hear that school children are not being educated very well and test scores are down.

If you want to know some of what is being taught to children in America you might want to take 15 minutes to listen to Bridgitte Gabriel, a fascinating lady. Google her and check Wikipedia for a synopsis of who she is and what she stands for and why.....

You will be shocked to hear her speak and learn what is going on from grade school to college.

Yesterday it was announced that Maureen Murphy will be the new Washington County Director of Human Services. She will begin work on December 1.

Maureen may not be well known to most Richfield residents but for almost six years she was the Village Administrator for the Village of Slinger. In that capacity she interacted with staff and elected officials of Richfield.

Her experience in a local community will be an asset to her Washington County position.

Linda Derrick, a local artist, participates in the Richfield Historical Society "Art in the Park" event every summer.  Recently she announced that some of her work will be part of two shows at the Schauer Center Art Gallery.

First show begins Friday, November 21, 2014 through Sunday January 4, 2015.
Second show begins February 20 through March 29, 2015.

Recently she noted, "I will be at the December 19th reception if you would like to stop in to view the exhibit."

Her paintings can be seen on display at various times at the Germantown Library, Hartford Library, Kingshead Studio (Milwaukee), the Hodgepodge Shop (Hustisford), Derrick Chiropractic Clinic (West Allis) and Richfield Art at the Mill in July each year.

Richfield Residents Voted Wisely for Don Kriefall for Richfield County Supervisor

11/13/2014

Bill Meyers always puts his foot in his mouth.

Today's Daily News has a letter to the editor from Bill and it is interesting in the context of Bill's election history. He wrote the following...... Albert Einstein was quoted as saying, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” The same could be said for the continuing re-election of county supervisors.

One can deduct that not re-electing Bill was a sign of "sanity". Precisely why Richfield residents did the right thing and elected Don Kriefall.

Bill's letter should prove to all voters in the 24th County District that Don Kriefall was the better candidate and be thankful he was elected.

State and Federal Elections Done now look to Local 2015 Elections

11/10/2014

The state and federal elections are now in the past and we now have a one month breather before we get involved in local elections. December 1 begins the timeframe when candidates for village board can obtain signatures to support their candidacy.

In April 2015 you will see 3 Village of Richfield offices open for election, Village President and 2 Village Trustees. While everyone has the right to be a candidate Richfield Today hopes the 2015 election will be a positive election. Anyone who has lived in Richfield for the past 10 or more years knows what that means.

Richfield Today hopes the current office holders will again be candidates for their current positions.

John Jeffords - Village President
Rock Brandner - Village Trustee
Sandy Voss - Villge Trustee
