Richfield Road Referendum

10/29/2018

Numerous residents received the following message this morning, seems many have questions and here are some answers..

Good morning everyone,

I hope this email finds you doing great on this Monday morning!

With just over one (1) week until Election Day, I wanted to forward to everyone the FAQs that were recently published in the Richfield Happenings newsletter. I would be very appreciative if you could please forward this on to your respective organizations, subdivision HOA members, Lake Association members, friends, family, etc. for circulation to help raise voter awareness and answer some of the questions we’ve been hearing over the last several months regarding this planned referendum. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration of this request. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at your earliest convenience.

Take care and have a safe and happy rest of your week!
With gratitude,
Jim Healy, Village Administrator (262)-628-2260

Evercrisp!!

10/26/2018

So many got your first taste of the Evercrisp apple last season and have been back to Rim's Edge Orchard this season asking for this new apple.  They saw the disappointment in your faces when told it was the last of our late season apples and it wouldn't be ready until the end of Oct...well now it's go time!  This Saturday you can come and grab some of these apples, which is the offspring of the Honeycrisp and Fuji apple!

This Saturday plenty of pumpkins for your little ghouls and goblins.  Stop in and pick up a pumpkin after you've picked your own Royal Cortland, Empire or Jonagold right off the trees.

In the store find the Evercrisp, Honeycrisp, Strawberry (last call), Linda Mac (last call), SnowSweet, Macoun, Empire, Jonagold, and Royal Cortland on the tables.

Dutch Apple Pies continue to be so popular; grab some now and freeze them for your holiday dinners!  Apple cider is delicious and it can also be frozen.  Plenty of treats...Apple Cider Donuts, Caramel Apples, Cider Pops, and more!

Richfield Fix Road Referendum

10/13/2018

Picture
Many if not most of Village of Richfield residents see and feel the need for road improvements. The Village Board could easily just decide to obtain a loan to acquire additional money to improve the village roads.

Instead the village board has decided to hold a referendum that would increase your taxes over a nine year period.  Twice as many miles of road will be repaired each year. This method would save tax payer dollars that would be necessary to pay interest on the loan.

Hopefully Richfield residents will see the need to spend money to improve roads and want the decision to be the least costly. Unlike many other communities Richfield does not have any debt.

Let's keep it that way. VOTE YES.

Peak Color - Rim's Edge Orchard

10/12/2018

Around these parts, this weekend is expected to be the start of the peak colors.  With Saturday's sun, the landscape around Rim's Edge Orchard is beginning to pop!  Come on out and enjoy the cool, crisp Saturday before the Brewers first pitch!  Or, take advantage of the open Sunday without a Packer game and do a traditional Fall activity such as Apple Picking.  Plenty of carving pumpkins too for those of you looking to finish up Autumn decorations!

Starting Saturday they have the SnowSweet apples available in store along with Honeycrisp, Strawberry, Linda Mac, Ruby Mac, Cortland, and Macoun.  For those new this season, those SnowSweet are again one of the most sought after apples.

Pick Your Own for Saturday and Sunday will be Macoun (last call), Cortland, and....SnowSweet!

The Dutch Apple Pies have been a huge hit, thank you all who have already purchased a few of them!  Remember these are frozen pies and are perfect to pick up for the Holidays!  They will be available through the season but don't wait too long they could be gone.
