This post is a follow-up to the recent post "2/3 Speak Against Petitions in Richfield". This post can by no means be construed to include every word that was said at the October 26th meeting regarding petitions submitted by Danah Zoulek. The intent is to not misrepresent what anyone said. Much of the wording is paraphrased. Only the village has accurate details of the meeting. This post is quite lengthy and hopefully you will read it all and view the videos. It is doubtful that the video of October 26th meeting will be placed on U Tube. Hopefully you will learn a lot about your Richfield Village Trustees and the 2 people who circulated these petitions.
*************************************************************************************** After public comments were completed President John Jeffords read both items under DISCUSSION/ACTION ITEMS: Item 5 a. Discussion/Action regarding a direct legislation petition to institute term limits on the Village Board by Ms. Danah Zoulek b. Discussion/Action regarding a direct legislation petition to expand the Village Board size by Ms. Danah Zoulek Village Administrator Jim Healy then gave a brief over view of the petition process noting, "if passed it would be effective on posting and adding of 2 board members would occur in 2017." The Richfield Village Board held a special meeting on October 26th regarding the petitions submitted by Danah Zoulek. She and Jeff Gonyo of the Hwy J group collected over 1300 signatures to request term limits for the board and 2 additional trustees.
While the village hall was almost packed, only 9 people spoke during public comments. 6 spoke against the petitions and 3 in favor. To be expected, Danah Zoulek, Jeff Gonyo, and his trusty side kick Gill Frank spoke in favor. Ultimately the board voted not to approve the petitions resulting in a referendum April 2016. A water Bed in a German furniture store. Note that the sign says NOT to get on the bed, but oh well..the best way to motivate people to do something is to put up a sign saying "Don't........!"
Turn on speakers and watch people trying out the water bed. It's in German, but that only makes it funnier. Watch for the last two ladies ! Laugh at this link On Monday October 26, the Richfield Village Board will hold a special meeting to discuss and vote regarding 2 petitions submitted by Danah Zoulek, owner of the Scenic Pit. Signatures were also gathered by Jeff Gonyo of the Highway J group.
The agenda includes the following items: DISCUSSION/ACTION ITEMS Item 4 - Public Comments on items on the agenda. Item 5 - a. Discussion/Action regarding a direct legislation petition to institute term limits on the Village Board by Ms. Danah Zoulek b. Discussion/Action regarding a direct legislation petition to expand the Village Board size by Ms. Danah Zoulek Information regarding the petitions and action by the board can be found on the Village of Richfield website. This link is directly to the packet of information and may take awhile to open in your computer. Be patient. It also includes a copy of all the petitions with signatures submitted to the Village. Remember Danah Zoulek had campaigned for Village Trustee April 2015 and lost. Jeff Gonyo has lost 3 lawsuits against the Village of Richfield and still owes the court appointed fees to the village. He lives in the Town of Polk. Do you want someone from outside the village to be impacting your Village? Come to the village meeting and have your voice heard. The Richfield Historical Society's (RHS) main purpose is to preserve and maintain the Messer/Mayer Mill located in the Richfield Historical Park. At the October 22nd program meeting of the RHS Herb Lofy announced, "The second phase of the restoration has been completed. With your help we can get this project completed."
Now is the time for residents of Richfield and anyone interested in preserving the only mill in Wisconsin that has all its original milling equipment intact to donate to help complete this project. Donation information available. In case you missed it the first time you get a second chance to see the Range of Richfield on Outdoor Wisconsin with host Dan Small.
