Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SEWRPC) will conduct a study on the impact of road salt on surface water. With increased use of road salt rather than sand for road safety in the winter, there is an increased public concern on the issue of how road salt impacts our environment.

Kevin Brehm had served the Town of Richfield on the Plan Commission years ago and now his son Cy Brehm is following in his fathers foot-steps by giving back to his community. As a board member of Richfield Historical Society I was aware of the request that Cy had made for this Eagle Scout project.
Over the summer anyone who came to the Historical park could see the sapling trees inside the tubes to help them stay upright and help them survive. The hope is to keep healthy trees in the park as the Emerals Ash Bore destroys hundreds of trees in the park. The Daily News wrote a great article about Cy and his friends who helped him complete this project. They also wrote about the many other Eagle Scout projects that have helped the Richfield Historical Society. Thank you Cy Brehm. ![]() Get ready for the Richfield Lions’ 2016 Chicken Roast on October 16th. Please share with your friends & family. Proceeds support many great causes. A current example of our efforts: Today the Lions provided vision & hearing screening at Richfield school & one 6th grader said she was going to fail. One of the Lions asked her when she was last tested & she said 3 years ago. She was the only one that could not see the symbols on the second line, all of the other kids passed thru the 6th grade. We talked to the teacher & it is a matter of money, so we told her that’s what the Lions do, help out, so she will talk to the parents & we’ll financially fund whatever needs to be done. Children have to be able to read to learn. So the Lions are here to make that happen. The Richfield Lions have been assured that HWY 175 will be well on its way to completion and should pose no problem for accessibility for those wishing to come and enjoy Rupena’s awesome chicken. See you there for some delicious food while you visit with friends. Click on image to enlarge poster. Do you have computer equipment and TV components and want to get rid of them? When Richfield became a village it no longer could have its police services provided by the sheriff department as it had when Richfield was a town. By state law sheriff departments provide service to residents of towns in Wisconsin. By state law the Village of Richfield had to start it's own police department or contract for services. Richfield decided the cost was too expensive to start its own police department as well as a duplication of services so both the Washington County Sheriff Department and the Germantown Police Department were considered for contracted services. Ultimately the decision was to contract with Washington County Sheriff. Richfield residents seem to be very happy with that decision.
