Pleasant Hill & Hwy 164 Homes

8/25/2017

Since the early 1990's there has been discussion regarding the need to expand Hwy J now Hwy 164 to a 4 lane highway. In the late 1990's a group of people tried to gather momentum to stop any discussion and planning for the 4 lane highway. Much to do about nothing, with legal costs to Richfield government, has not changed anything to the original planning.

Recently it was seen that a fence was placed around the home on the NW corner of Pleasant Hill Rd and Hwy 164 for safety during demolition. That home was purchased in about 2015 by WISDOT. The home on the SW corner will soon have a fence around it as it too was purchased by WISDOT around 2015 and is getting ready for demolition.

Yes some things are good to fight for but not safety when traffic volumes get to 13,000. That seems to be the threshold when a 2 lane road needs to be upgraded to 4 lanes to handle that amount of traffic in a safe manner.
