Friess Lake School District and Richfield School District are in the process of considering a merger of the two school districts. At a recent school board meeting the two boards and administrators discussed ideas of how to form a future school board if the merger is completed. Perhaps at the next meeting, on June 28th at Friess Lake School, the agenda will include discussion of potential new school names.

On June 19th the school boards for Friess Lake School District and Richfield Joint School District met and discussed various facets of merging the two school districts.
The next meeting will be held at Friess Lake School on June 28th at 5:45 p.m.. This meeting will offer continued discussion regarding topics the two school boards must decide to determine if there will be a merger and prepare for all the steps necessary to complete the merger process. The administrators and school board members hope and encourage all Village of Richfield residents to attend this and future meetings. On June 19th the school boards from Friess Lake School District and Richfield Joint School District met at Richfield School to continue discussion of a potential merger of the two districts. There were 10 residents in attendance.

Many people have been watching the USGA Open tournament held this year at Erin Hills, located very close to Richfield. Over 4,000 volunteers have come from most every state in the USA and also from 3 foreign countries. It has been an exciting event with warm weather, rain, heavy traffic and some awesome scores by the players. Two golfers to make the cut are from Wisconsin, Steve Stricker and Jordan Niebrugge. Good Luck to them both. There is still time for you to get tickets and enjoy this wonderful event. It has been exciting to see the various players and the awesome scores . Last night at the June Richfield village board meeting those few in attendance had the chance to meet the new Richfield Deputy Clerk Donna Cox. She is fast at work learning from Laura Johnson and took minutes regarding the meeting. Laura will be retiring on July 7th after long serving residents in Richfield and other communities. Laura, enjoy your retirement.
