If 5 was cost effective when Richfield was a Town why does Richfield as a Village need a 7 member board? Is she really a conservative?

The March 19th village board meeting felt all too surreal. Was this evening going to be like the classic horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street or the comedy of errors A Night at the Opera? Like Driftwood, an actor, in A Night at the Opera says, "Say, is it my imagination or is it getting crowded in here?" The village hall was packed with standing room only. Residents were chattering unhappy comments before the meeting began and Danah Zoulek walked around the room. Neither the residents nor future developer were having fun. It felt almost like life or death for each. This post does not want to make the meeting sound like they were having fun. This is serious business after all.
Friess Lake School District Administrator John Engstrom noted after the meeting:
"Our Maker's Lab has a student designed and built hydroponics lab- filled with 43 growing tilapia and garden vegetables. A small group of students are designing an ROV to explore the bottom of Friess Lake. We are building a model of the area- to scale." "We've build and raced cardboard boats, a roller coaster, and a bridge out of plastic bags. The list goes on and on! We've also had some failures and things that didn't work- which is all part of the experience." "We have wood, saws, and a number of other power tools, much of it donated by generous parents." "Our goal is to create a community makerspace. We can't compete 'tool for tool' with what some people might have in their own workshop, but what we can offer is a space for people to come together to talk, tinker, and prototype." The first report on the March 18th Richfield Village Board agenda was lead by Friess Lake School District Administrator John Engstrom. Mr. Engstrom briefly described Makers Lab at Friess Lake School.

One funding source for the village is through taxes paid by those who own property in the village. And some of the same people who vote.
