Hopefully you can attend this meeting and provide your comments on the Scenic Pit issue.
Danah Zoulek, candidate for Richfield Village Board, and her husband have written articles in area newspapers and many Richfield news boards such as the one at the Citgo gas station on Hwy 175 have color information flyers promoting filling the gravel pit on Scenic Road between Elmwood Rd and Willow Creek Rd. Let your voice be heard, this is your community as well as theirs. Written by WI Senator Frank Lasee
The median Wisconsin household income is about $50,000. If that income were reduced by 2.5% it would come to $48,750 (about $100 less per month). A mere 2.5% budget reduction is what is being asked of the UW System. With a $6.1 billion annual budget, 35,000 employees (for reference the City of Manitowoc has 34,000 residents), 26 campuses and $700 million in cash reserves, the UW System has many opportunities to get lean, find efficiencies and make your tuition and tax dollar stretch farther. The Village Board will be considering whether or not to remove the parcels indicated as 'Quarry Redevelopment' on the adopted Future Land Use Map and replacing them with 'Single Family'. The Village Board will be hosting a scheduled Public Hearing on February 19th at 7:30 p.m.
Minor amendments to the text are also being proposed which would be consistent with the suggested mapping amendment. For additional details, please contact Village Administrator Jim Healy at (262)-628-2260. For more information check the village web site. On April 17 an election will be held for Richfield President and Richfield Trustees. Election will be held at Crown of Life Church on Hubertus Road.
All candidates now have active web sites which have been linked to the candiates name below. Richfield President John Jeffords Richfield Trustee two will be elected Rock Brandner - Incumbent Sandy Voss - Incumbent Danah Zoulek |
